Which peptides are legal in 2026 — Best Peptides
Answer in brief
Best Peptides guide: A short list of peptides can be prescribed and compounded today, six more became compoundable by prescription under an HHS interim policy on 28 October 2026, and the rest are sold for research use.
Prescribable now
Sermorelin, PT-141 and gonadorelin can be prescribed and compounded by licensed pharmacies. NAD+ and glutathione, which are not peptides, are often offered alongside them.
Under the HHS interim policy
On 28 October 2026 HHS announced enforcement discretion for BPC-157, TB-500, MOTS-c, KPV, epitalon and Semax when compounded by a state-licensed 503A pharmacy or a physician for a named patient on prescription, from tested bulk ingredient, one ingredient per product. The policy is interim, is not FDA approval and can be withdrawn.
Under review or restricted
Emideltide (DSIP) was not recommended in July 2026. GHK-Cu is due for a second advisory review before February 2027. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin were declined in 2024 and remain restricted for compounding. Outside the prescription route, these and many other compounds are sold as research chemicals.
Questions & answers
How does Peptaura relate to the best peptide companies?
Peptaura is our editorial choice for buying research peptides online: a marketplace that lists vetted vendors side by side, each with a certificate of analysis tied to a batch number. The recommendation reflects Peptaura's published catalog, testing tools and buyer protections against the criteria in this reference. It is not a measured ranking of every peptide vendor.
What is the first practical step?
A peptide vendor should connect every vial to a tested batch. This reference starts with the batch certificate and follows the path through independent testing, buyer protection and delivery. Choose the compound, then compare offers on the batch, not the brand: open the certificate for the batch on offer and check that its batch number matches the listing before paying.
Are research peptides legal to buy?
Research peptides are sold for laboratory use and are not approved for human use. Rules vary by country and change often, so check current regulations where you live before ordering.
